Job Description
Job Title: Coordinator, Wedding Status: Part time (On-Call)
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Salary: Flat fee ($165 per wedding)
Department/Location: St. Mark the Evangelist / Oro Valley
Primary Function: Under the direction of the Pastor responsible for wedding planning including working with various vendors, volunteers, and other staff to successfully organize each special event. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs in support of the mission of the Parish and Catholic Church.
- Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee’s professional and public life and shall govern his/her professional and public life in accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate adherence to Catholic moral strictures.
- Coordinates wedding ceremonies.
- Work with staff, volunteers and others coordinate event details.
- Ensure appropriate set up and breakdown of wedding.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift in a normal office environment.
Required Activities: Walking; sitting; standing; kneeling; stooping; reaching; talking; handling; hearing; carrying; and keyboarding.
Basic Qualifications:
- A working knowledge of, and a strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership in the Catholic Church; must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church.
- Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player; strong leadership skills.
- Be available for evening and weekend work as necessary; have reliable transportation.
- Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology including word processing and the use of excel and related technology; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to successfully complete a criminal history and background check.
- Professional bearing and clean and neat personal appearance
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Other/Preferred Skills:
- Experience in event management
- Bi-lingual (English, Spanish)
